Social networking is the latest invention that internet has made. These social sites have been gaining much popularity these days due to advancement in science and technology and since mainly targeted to people. Many problems of communications are solved by these social networks. Many social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo Messenger and mobile social networks like Mig33, Nimbuzz and Ebuddy have ruled internet geek’s computers and mobile phones which has cut short communication gap as well as have promoted globalization and cultural exchange in a short period of time.
Literally the social networks may sound only like source of fun, entertainment and communication but there are some drawbacks too. Lack of security and piracy, harassment, online scams, time consuming are some demerits of social networks. Whatever may be everyone seems to be lured by social networks that are cheaper, faster means of communication for personal and business works. It helps to increase one’s connectivity with many also at a time and even helps in branding sectors in business.
This means to suggest our techno-freak readers to be aware of social networks during their surfing hours. Identification of users can be impossible some times. It’s good to make friends and get connected with known people. I don’t mean we can’t add strangers but I mean that it’s not good to get connected to strangers at times. These social networks have really contributed in building social relationships throughout the globe but also have weakened those relationships not as social but as techno-type. Some people talk on computers from a long time but might not have talked verbally face to face. It might sound quite frenzy but internet addiction has triggered and wreak havoc human relationships causing mental stress and anxiety. Apart from this, these networks have webbed relationships irrespective of age, sex, caste, class, region etc.
What I mean to focus is its negative sides since positive sides are known by all. Awareness and alertness is inevitable for all the internet surfers to be safe from hazardous facebook, Mig33 relationships. Our age is of course digital, but this should be properly taken into consideration that digital is not only full of luxuries and pleasures; this can be more devastating in some cases.
Last month I got betrayed Rs 300 in mig33. I bought with a person who later did not send me credits. I had taken his number and talked before but after he did not send credits I made a call. He said that the person whom I was calling does not live there. I became full of sweat and wrath but could not do anything. Since then I don’t use much and talk with only person I know. Familiarization is very beneficial but too much dependency can lead to nowhere.
