From a Student to a Teacher

After I finished my class 12, I joined a school to teach students. There are so many reasons for I joined the institution and got into teaching at an early age. Firstly, I got the teaching-learning background i.e. my parents are teachers and the home was always like a school. Secondly, my own desire to teach, that may be genetic or heredity. Thirdly, to become independent and master in the teaching field in the early age. Also I taught computer after I gave SLC and also a school for some months. These all mean that teaching will not be only my profession but also hobby, and also a way of living.

Many things change after a student becomes a teacher. When he is a student, he is less responsible on the matters of text. He only thinks how to gain knowledge and information either through himself or through his teacher. On the other hand, a teacher has to be more responsible on the subject matters and as I became a social teacher, I have to know beyond the text, which is also challenging, and innovative experience. When I was a student, I used to trouble my teachers raising several questions related to text and now I am facing those but I answer them patiently using all my brain at once.

From my childhood, I am kind and have a literary heart. I used to wonder why teachers would punish physically to the students. I used to think that when I would become a teacher, I won't punish students. But, things have become different since I punish my students now, sometimes, although I feel pity and excuse many times showing mercy on them. I also wanted to be free from the chains of teachers' rules in my childhood. May be I was always in discipline and was not destructive and positive in deeds.

Although I want to practise democratic teaching style, in the matters of punishment, my philosophy gets dominated. I think deep on this topic that how can I inject them knowledge without punishing them. Till now I am searching the solution. Many things I knew after becoming a teacher. As Far as I observed, teaching is one of the most puritan works that human do, since earning is possible only when we impart knowledge and information to students and it teaches us to be social, constructive, creative, organized and positive in approach. A feeling of responsibility rises in a person. I feel that teaching is the most benevolent, socially adjustable and pure profession comparing others.
